Two Fish, Leaves, Praying Mantis, & Flowers.
Recently our house is acting funny. Three leaves popped up on our kitchen sink pipe, & a small one was on our bathroom tap. Last night, I witnessed a praying mantis ran on our dining table, & I couldn't seem to escape her cuteness. Our house is not shabby, & our mother loves cleanness, so they surely had a lot of courage to come by.
Somehow it reminds me to two fish who used to live in Grandma's bathroom tub (I couldn't find any word can perfectly describe the rectangular shape that is used to collect the water in our bathroom. It is not really a 'tub'). Those two fish was given a room 'deliberately' by our Grandma which I still do not understand her motives or if the fish has any other function. But sometimes you don't have to be useful to deserve a place and freedom to live in.
I am not a person who grows familiarly with nature. I got scared easily to animals, especially those who have a long shape. I am not really comfortable with grass, plants, or trees. I only watch them from a safe distance or worse, despise them. I am a home person, which always find outdoor matters is utterly uncomfortable. So when those folks popped in our house unplanned, I am flattered.
Our mother built a little garden in the backyard of our house. I don't know since when, but there is these giant cactus plant who gave birth to flowers only in the first week of December. These flowers bloom only from dawn to early morning & in that short period of time, we baffled with their beauty.
I do not know what 'living' really means, & this 'human being' identity still confuses me every time. Maybe human is only another entity that popped up in their world. Maybe home is only another bathroom tub that has been given by them. Maybe we are the one who was given a place by them, we are the one in the receiving hand. And for that, I am so thankful to meet those folks, that my short encounter with them has made my heart warm, & it's all that matters.
Thank you fish, thank you leaves, thank you praying mantis, thank you flowers. Thank you for everything, Lord.
In another different note:
Cockroaches, house lizard, ants, mouses are all usual inhabitant in every house. Which we may grow to hate them. Some are born as the symbol of beauty, some are being made as the symbol of danger. And yet we live in the same house, side by side.
